Noa Linda "GiGi"
"I am so excited to finally have a mare of my own again! I grew up loving and riding mares and simultaneously was owned by three wonderful warmblood mares. Somehow, I’ve had a string of geldings since 2008, until this incredibly special mare popped up on my computer screen then flew to the me from The Netherlands a month later!
I started shopping for my next youngster during the COVID-19 pandemic since I had more time in the house and sellers quickly realized that they needed to switch to mostly virtual sales since no one could travel. Sitting in my hairdresser’s salon (one of the three times a year I go), I found a new (to me) agent’s site, Rebecca Dudley’s RD Horses For Sale and I dropped my jaw at the quality of youngsters she had for sale. It didn’t take me long to lock eyes on the stunning 2018 black-bay KWPN-ster mare (Tuschinski x Glamourdale) named Noa Linda “GiGi” who had been listed that morning.
Rebecca made the entire purchase process easy, and I am thrilled that I’ve gotten to know her breeders, Jelke and Linda Heida, who have built an impressive breeding legacy over the past 35+ years based on their very strong mare-line with Linda in their names. GiGi and I are headed to complete her mare performance requirements fall 2022 at the KWPN inspection where she gets to complete the IBOP test as a 4-year-old.
GiGi arrived in Ohio in October unstarted. I decided I no longer need to take risks like starting youngsters, so for the first time in my career, I sent my horse to a trainer! I chose Alway Horsemanship (Michael and Marion Alway) in Boyce, Virginia, to start her because my coach, Olivia LaGoy-Weltz, highly recommended them from personal experience. So, when Dreamy and I headed to FL for the winter, GiGi headed to VA.
GiGi was the perfect student impressing the Always with her intelligence, calm demeanor, sweet character and constant desire to please. Our plans for 2023 are to follow in her brother’s footsteps in the Materiale classes and, depending on how she feels about shows, see if she wants to do regular classes, too.”
