Training/Lessons/Clinics
Over the years, Jen has competed, trained and coached hundreds of dressage horses and riders at all levels, many of whom have earned USDF medals, Regional Champion/Reserve, and USDF year-end awards. She and her husband, Lenny, own the expansive Dancing Horse Farm (DHF) which is home to Team Dream Training Center (TDTC) in Lebanon OH. DHF houses 40-50 dressage horses. Jen remains committed to furthering her own education and welcomes her clients to join her on her educational journey, so DHF hosts multiple events each year.

"I love being able to share my own journey of furthering my education with my clients through clinics and seminars hosted at my farm. I feel it is important for my clients to see me learning in the student role to help reinforce the fact that no one has all the knowledge. I also appreciate having my coach and other experts I trust come in and share their knowledge with my students. This sharing of knowledge creates cohesive learning experiences for all involved." |

Jen's Dare 2 Dream education method teaches riders to:
- Communicate more effectively with horses using the language of "horse"
- Reduce reaction time lags so that learning moments aren't missed
- Develop a vocabulary to describe what they are feeling in both their and their horse's bodies while riding
- Understand their and their horse's responsibilities
- Improve physical and mental control and coordination
- Increase body awareness, core strength, and multitasking capabilities
- Develop the ability to focus on, and simultaneously process, both internal and external stimuli while riding.
In a nutshell, Dare 2 Dream teaches riders to "notice" what is going on and use a learned skill set to make positive changes in their body and the horse's in the same way that "talented" riders do unconsciously. Jen specializes in teaching in a method that creates a positive, calm, supportive environment. This learning environment has created an amazingly supportive, team-like atmosphere at DHF and among her clients that is fairly unique among most large riding facilities. Our clients support each other and cheer for each other's successes, instead of the common environment of competition and always trying to outdo each other.

Virtual Lessons
Jen has become a sought-after virtual lesson coach because of her ability to quickly assess the current situation and provide feedback to address any issues that is descriptive enough, yet not overly complex. She keeps her virtual lessons to 30 minutes focusing on no more than three items, setting the rider up for success. Limiting the focus to three or fewer topics enables the rider to zero in on the short list, build a new "feel" pattern, and assimilate the new information into their current knowledge base.
Virtual lessons are perfect for anyone who would like to learn from Jen but is unable to get work with her in person. Current students often do virtual lessons to keep progressing between clinics/in-person lessons. This lesson format has proven to be quite successful because not only can Jen use it to teach, but also to analyze things like saddle/bridle/bit fit, soundness, horse comfort, etc.
The most important part of a successful virtual lesson is the speed of the internet in the arena from which the lesson will be broadcast. Some people set up WIFI hotspots, others have WIFI extenders, and still others have a strong enough mobile signal that they can stream just on their internet connection. The simplest method is to have a friend hold the rider's smart phone that is streaming both the video and audio feed via SKYPE or Google Duo. Jen and the rider talk through blue tooth ear buds as Jen watches/coaches from her computer.
The more high-tech method uses a "robot cameraman" like PIVO or PIXIO because the robot's computer tracks the horse around the arena. The benefit to using one of these systems is that an extra person is not necessary to video; the downside is that this tech is so new, it often glitches.

Clinics/Symposia/Workshops
Jen enjoys sharing her Dare 2 Dream approach with riders everywhere through clinics. Her biomechanical approach to teaching and training is applicable to many disciplines including H/J, Eventing and Western Dressage in addition to her personal passion, Dressage. Her techniques can help shave seconds out on the course by helping the horse/rider combination turn more sharply, ride more direct lines and keep rails in cups from improved balance and effective half halts.
Western Dressage riders appreciate how Jen taps into her many years as a youth competing successfully in Western Pleasure and Horsemanship and combines that experience with her knowledge of correct Dressage training to improve the lateral and longitudinal balance of the horse.
Dressage riders of all levels enjoy Jen's ability to communicate clearly, both the "why" and "how" to do something, instead of just giving a "command" lesson.
Many of Jen's riders have earned USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals, Regional and National Championships and year-end awards. Jen's depth of knowledge in classical dressage, biomechanics and groundwork theories, her extensive "tool box" of exercises and multitude of ways to explain the same idea all combined with her quick wit, sassy personality and boundless energy make her clinics consistently fun and entertaining for riders and auditors alike.
